I'VE been a bit worried recently because, since the Labour Party's narrow election victory, there had been no letters from Walter Meadows.
The thought even crossed my mind that he might have, you know, emigrated along with Frank Bruno and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Maybe, the idea of a Labour government for the next five years had proved just too much for him.
Anyway, what a relief! On Wednesday. He's back again (Letters, June 4) going on and on about Labour councillors and their expenses.
He makes a few wild statements about the independent group of prominent citizens who recommended the increases and he doesn't mention that the Tory councillors supported the increase.
In other words, it's the usual nonsense, but, at least, he's not taken himself off to foreign parts!
