A £4 million business park investment could create up to 500 jobs.
Plans are in the pipeline for new industrial buildings at the Lancashire Enterprises Business Park.
The redevelopment plans centre on a disused 300,000 sq ft building which used to be part of the Leyland Daf truck factory.
Under the plans the building would be demolished and 135,900sq ft of new industrial units would be built.
"The redevelopment of the former Leyland Daf site has been a tremendous success," said Gwynne Furlong, director of property at Lancashire Enterprises.
"Virtually all of the existing industrial and commercial units are let and this new development is vital to meet market needs."
More that 40 companies, many connected to the automotive industry, have already moved on to business park. Long term plans include the development of an international railfreight terminal.
