REGARDING Castle Cement's gift of £1,200 to Slaidburn School (LET, May 31), according to Dr Dick Van Steenis's research findings on asthma in 1995, previous to 1992, Slaidburn school's asthma rate for children taking inhalers to school was nil.
Castle Cement started to burn Cemfuel (a toxic hazardous waste) in 1992. By 1995, Slaidburn school's asthma rate was 9.3 per cent. Is this conscience money or what?
