MRS Marjorie Fox, widow of former Blackburn Rovers chairman William, has died after a long illness.
A Rovers fanatic like her husband, Mrs Fox was a vice-president of the Blackburn Football Combination League.
After her husband's death in 1991, she had continued to be a regular supporter of Rovers.
Her husband, who ran the family fruit and vegetable business T Fox and Sons before retiring, was chairman of Rovers from 1982 to 1991 and became president of the Football League in 1989.
The Blackburn couple had a son and three daughters.
"We are desperately upset at the news and our thoughts go out to her family," said Rovers chairman Robert Coar today.
The funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
