CERTIFICATES of appreciation were presented to five voluntary workers for the St John Ambulance Brigade Padiham Division.
Victoria McDonald and Lillian Fenton received certificates for dedication and commitment and for outstanding contribution. Victoria has run the Badger section for some years and Lillian has given dedicated service at Padiham, Burnley, Colne, Nelson and Clitheroe.
Certificates for dedication and commitment were presented to Michael Tighe, for much work behind the scenes, to Katie Saich, the longest serving cadet, and cadet instructor Jane Tighe for outstanding contribution. President Coun John Greenwood also presented special certificates to badgers Peter Simpson, Ashley Hudson, Chris O'Brian, Donna Smith, Clarke Hudson, Carrie Tighe, Libby Blackman and Romy Blackman.
Gerrard King, county first aid trainer, presented first aid course certificates to Laura Jackson, Kath Newman, Audrey Redhead, Susan Western, Allan Richard Dowling, Dorothy Jane Dowling and Eric Wilshaw.
Order of St John certificates for long and dedicated service were presented by divisional officer in charge Norman Mitchell to Coun Greenwood and vice-president Margaret Greenwood.
Mr Mitchell received a special certificate to mark the completion of 500 hours voluntary service to the community.
Padiham Division also received a certificate noting the achievement of 994 hours duty in first aid, nursing and community care and the treatment of 92 casualties or patients during 1996.
