A SELF-employed TV repair man has set up camera surveillance in his bedroom window to help catch teeny terrors who are turning his families life into a nightmare.
Gerald Duxbury has launched a one man campaign to help clean up the streets around his Dean Street home in Darwen which he fears could be turned into a slum area.
For children as young as 10-years-old have turned on the life-long Darwener by pelting his door with eggs, vandalising his property and putting his business at risk.
According to 51-year-old Mr Duxbury, he has been in constant contact with the police and the council but is upset by their alleged lack of interest and cooperation.
He said: "There has been a problem for the past two years but it has escalated in the past few weeks and nobody apart from myself seems interested in doing anything about it.
"I have now set up a camera in an upstairs window to try and catch these young vandals red handed and now I seem to be paying the price."
Angry Mr Duxbury added: "However, I won't give up my fight and move away because they have to be stopped."
He added: "I work from home and have had equipment stolen and damaged which is beginning to effect my livelihood. However, that is only a part of the problem. The area is a mess with graffiti and litter strewn everywhere. Only this week I went out with my two daughters and collected three big bags full rubbish."
