THREE members of the county's Federation of Women's Institutes got on their bikes this week for a tour de Lancashire.
To coincide with National Bike Week the get-fit grannies set themselves the challenge of taking in as many institutes as possible in seven days.
Pat Ascroft, from Broughton; Liz Lark, of Leyland, and Gill Stamp from Lytham - who have an average age of 58 - set off on Monday (June 9).
It is just one of a host of celebrations for next week's Centenary of the WI. They hoped a total of 100 women would join them on their bikes along the way.
Mrs Ascroft said: "Offers of overnight accommodation in members homes have poured in and sponsorships received from local companies."
Pedal Power from Fulwood offered 24-hour call out in case of a mishap and Taylor of Harrogate provided free tea for the stops en-route.
The cyclists will end their ride at the Federation Show at Barton Village Hall on June 17 at 6.30pm.
