GREAT Harwood's Mr Consistent has sent out a warning to the rest of the Ribblesdale League - watch us go!
The Cliffe Park side are up to full strength for the first time this season and are just two points behind leaders Cherry Tree - and now skipper Daniel Cheesbrough believes the title charge starts from here.
The 22-year-old has been prominent in keeping Harwood in the hunt with a string of fine batting displays with an average of 42 runs a game this season.
He said: "In the past we have struggle up to June because we have had key players away studying at university. Now they are back and we are still in the hunt. This time last year we won every game with our full strength squad, apart from the last two when we realised we were out of the title race. This year however we are in a much better position."
Alan Armer is back in action for Saturday's trip to Read (June 14) while Matthew Cheesbrough is set for a run out with the seconds before returning to the first team next week.
Cheesbrough, who is thriving in his first season in charge, praised his depleted side for sticking to the task and grinding out results in the opening eight games of the season.
He added: "Until last weekend we were top of the table but two rained off matches knocked us down to third place but there is nothing we can do about that. But it is a great tribute to the lads for us to still be up there and we are very hopeful we can win it this year after so many near misses in the past."
Fixtures Saturday, June 14: Cherry Tree v Settle, Clitheroe v Barnoldswick, Earby v Baxenden, Edenfield v Ribblesdale W, Oswaldtwistle Imm v Blackburn N, Read v Great Harwood, Whalley v Padiham.
