TWO men posing as security consultants conned their way into the home of a 72-year-old woman and stole a quantity of cash and a mobility allowance book.
The pair called at the victim's house in Cross Lane, Newton-le-Willows at about 4.45pm on Tuesday, June 3, claiming they were employed by the police and had called to give her advice on security.
One of the callers then kept the pensioner talking while the other searched the house and stole the cash and allowance book from the bedroom.
One of the men is described as white, medium build, 5ft 8in tall and in his 30s with a local accent. He had dark eyes, slight traces of a goatee beard, and short, black spikey hair. He was wearing a white shirt, black trousers, and black boots and had a plastic ID card complete with photograph pinned to his shirt. He was also carrying a metal silver case.
The second man is described as white, slim build, in his 20s and about 5ft 7in tall. He had very short brown hair, dark eyes and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a green, round-neck, short-sleeved shirt, green canvas trousers and white trainers. He was also carrying a blue folder and tape measure.
