WAR widows who need social services might be allowed to keep more of their money.
Bury Council recently decided to totally disregard any War Widows Pension when calculating council tax and housing benefit.
But Coun John Costello, social services chairman, spoke for all at Tuesday's meeting in saying that the rules should also apply when people need care.
The cost to the department would be £5,000 a year, for which there is no provision in the budget.
The matter will therefore have to be sanctioned by members of the finance committee.
