A ROSSENDALE company which is helping to change the face of football has become a victim of its own success!
Since the Taylor Report into the Hillsborough disaster, James Killelea and Co Ltd has been at the forefront of re-building the country's football stadia.
Over the last three years, the company has won numerous contracts to convert grounds into all-seater stadia, including new stands at Liverpool, Charlton, Derby and Stoke.
The company also builds steel-framed structures for factories, warehouses and office blocks all over Europe.
However, as a result of all the new contracts, Killelea were hard-pressed keeping pace with the flood of information flowing between its four separate buildings in Rossendale. After consulting Burnley-based business equipment distributor FH Brown, the company installed a £50,000 Fujitsu fibre optic communication system to link up all 10 of its computer systems.
FH Brown completed the network in just four days and despite some teething problems the system is now operating well above the company's most optimistic forecasts.
"The speed of transmission is excellent and we are already finding considerable benefits in improved workflow and increased efficiency," said systems supervisor Peter Killelea.
