IT was an exchange trip with a difference for staff and pupils at Rainford High School when they played host to two Dutch teachers.
Over the last three years, the Higher Lane school has teamed up for a number of highly successful exchange visits with schools in Holland, Germany and Denmark, usually involving pupils.
However, the latest project has given the teachers a chance to meet their European counterparts and discover how teaching methods differ.
Deputy head and biology teacher Richard Hayton along with English teacher Mary Jankowska travelled to a partner school in Drachten, Holland, while Maname Feenstra, a biology and information technology teacher, and history and English teacher Peter Van De Peppel (pictured here getting to know the Rainford pupils) travelled to St Helens.
