A NINE-year-old boy was indecently assaulted by a man walking his dog in Sutton on Sunday, June 8.

The incident took place at about 2.30pm in the Peckers Hill Road area near to St Helens Junction station when the man approached the youngster and a friend, also aged nine.

He gave one of the boys some money to buy a drink from a nearby shop and then dragged the other into some bushes where he committed the offence.

The attacker is described as white with brown, short, "scruffy" hair. He was clean shaven and was wearing a jumper and Reebok jogging trousers. His dog, which he called Bess, was white and brown and was on a blue, retractable lead.
