DAVID Fillingham, chief executive of St Helens and Knowsley Health Authority, is to move to a top post with one of the country's largest hospital trusts in Staffordshire.
St Helens born and bred, David has been at the forefront of change and innovation during his four years with the authority.
John Dray, chairman of the authority, said: "We have come a long way in those four years. Many of the current improvements in health and health services have been driven by David. He has made great strides in the reduction of waiting lists, consulting with the public, and strengthening links with local authorities to provide better services.
"I am sure that NHS management and staff throughout the two boroughs will add their voice to mine in wishing him every success in his new post."
David and his family will continue to live in St Helens and he is determined to keep his close links with St Helens College, the Saints and the Chamber of Commerce.
