IF you are getting ready to hitch-up your caravan and head for the sun, you would be well advised to visit a Caravan Safety Day being organised by St Helens Council.
This is on Saturday, June 21 between 9am and 12 noon at the Hardshaw Brook Depot Weighbridge, off Parr Street.
The popular event is again being organised by the council's Trading Standards section, in conjunction with the Caravan Club, whose members will be on hand to advise on the result of the weighings carried out by officers.
If you live in the borough and would like to take advantage of this free safety check, then call Trading Standards on 01744 456032, to make an appointment (it is possible to attend without an appointment but you may have to wait.
The Weighbridge at Hardshaw Brook Depot is a public weighbridge belonging to the council's Contract Services Department and is available for public weighing between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Normally there is a £5 charge per weighing.
