ADVENTURE addict Miriam Martin is seeking support for a marathon 350km bike ride through the Middle East.
The 22-year-old, who works at the Towerview Centre for people with learning disabilities, needs to raise £2,000 to take part in the event.
Miriam, of Bull Hill Cottages, Darwen, is also working towards becoming a youth leader and outdoor pursuits trainer.
Her strict exercise regime will help give her the pedal power needed to complete the gruelling journey in aid of the National Deaf Children's Society. She will travel across Jordan, starting from Amman and ending in Aqaba. "I heard about the event through a sign language class I am doing and thought it would be a challenge for me and also help such a good cause," she said.
"I know it's going to be hard raising so much money, but I hope to get support from individuals or companies by means of sponsorship, or they could donate articles to be raffled."
All proceeds from event will help to provide information, technology services and advocacy support to deaf children and their families.
Anybody who can help can ring Miriam at home on 01254 772983 or at work on 01254 703721.
