I WAS utterly disgusted to learn that Blackburn councillors have been awarded a ten-fold rise in allowances.
What for? We would all like to know.
Their expenses don't run into thousands, I'm sure. It's time the council got their priority right.
For two years I have been asking them for a fence for my front garden, only to keep being told they have no money.
But they got money for their own needs. Where is the fairness in that? So I, for one, begrudge them their rise at the expense of our needs.
BETTY BERRESFORD (Mrs), Birch Hall Avenue, Darwen.
