A WORD to the parents and teachers of the children who attend schools in the Preston New Road and Billinge area of Blackburn and who make their way home via Preston New Road, Manor Road, Crosshill Road and call at various shops on the way.
The dropping of litter is, I believe, still an offence. The drains on Manor Road are blocked with rubbish. I am angered and weary of living in streets strewn with bottles, cans and paper litter which I regularly clear away.
I ask the parents and teachers to impress on these young people that dirty streets are unhealthy and are more likely to attract the worst elements in society.
Once an area becomes run-down, property prices drop and nice people don't want to live there.
Blackburn is going down fast enough. It doesn't need a push from people who don't care.
M CLARK (Mrs), Manor Road, Blackburn.
