TWO teenagers had to be cut free from the wreckage of a car after it crashed in Darwen.
Firefighters had to take the roof off the car, a Mini, to release Lynn Collins, 16, of Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, and 15-year-old Michael Devine of Walton-le-Dale, Preston. Lynn suffered serious leg and arm injuries and today was stable in the intensive care unit at Blackburn Royal Infirmary.
Michael sustained leg injuries in the crash in Goose House Lane, Darwen, at 4.30pm yesterday. His condition was described as comfortable today.
Two doctors and a nurse from Blackburn Royal Infirmary were called out to provide medical attention at the scene.
The Mini,was in collision with a Volkswagen Jetta. The driver of the Mini, Christopher Devine, 18, of Belthorn, was unhurt. The driver of the Jetta, Lee Shorrock of Darwen, suffered minor hand injuries and went home after treatment.
