BLACKBURN Rovers will open their 1997-98 Premiership campaign against Jim Smith's Derby County at Ewood Park. Rovers' first date on the road is at Aston Villa four days later.
And 10 days later Ewood fans can look forward to a mouth-watering fixture when Liverpool come to town.
The Premiership campaign kicks off on Saturday, August 9 and Rovers wind up their season with a home game against Newcastle United on May 10. There are no fixtures on New Year's Day this season because the holiday falls too close to FA Cup third round day.
