PREMIER Margaret Thatcher called time on outdated pub opening hours and shopping laws.

Her new Cabinet was meeting for the first time to rubber-stamp a radical Queen's Speech outlining the Government's legislative programme.

It was set to agree to liberalising the laws on licensing hours to increase consumer choice and look for a way to bring consistency to Sunday trading laws.
