ENGLAND physio Alan Smith is set to take a leading role as Blackburn Rovers' top physiotherapist, writes TONY DEWHURST.
The highly-regarded physio will take charge of the Brockhall department in time for the arrival of new manager Roy Hodgson next month.
Blackpool coach Mark Taylor is expected to be his number two, but that appointment still has to be confirmed.
Rovers chairman Rob Coar said: "Alan is highly thought of in the game and he will oversee that department.
"He is one of the best physiotherapists in the country and has had a wealth of experience with the England set-up.
"He will still undertake his England duties but will have an increased commitment to Blackburn Rovers."
Smith has previously worked on a part-time basis with Rovers. Taylor, if the appointment is confirmed, will replace Steve Foster who parted company with the club earlier this month.
