THE Church of England said basic reasons existed to question if Christians should become Freemasons.
A church report stopped short of recommending Anglicans give up membership of Masonic lodges but said Christians who were Freemasons faced clear difficulties.
It criticised Masonic rituals for having "psychic effects" which some Christians found disturbing and others "positively evil".
