A LONE woman driver from Lancaster was indecently assaulted after picking up a hitch hiker on Tuesday teatime. The 21-year-old student, was subjected to an horrific attack as she drove along the A591 from Kendal, where she works, and on to the M6 southbound. The man, in his 20s, fled after she pulled off the motorway at Carnforth. She was left in an hysterical state and police are appealing for witnesses. She was driving a blue Citroen ZX saloon when she picked the hitch hiker up sometime between 5.20pm and 5.35pm.
The offender is about 5ft 8ins tall, slim, with blue eyes and brown collar length hair. He had an ear-ring in his left ear. He wore dark, baggy jeans with a zip-up tracksuit top. He had either a Welsh or Scottish accent and was carrying a black bag.
