THE Territorial Army marched to the rescue when six models faced parading bare-footed on the cat walk.
Design student Emma Holbrow had created a stunning collection of outfits based on body armour and bullet-proofing - but had forgotten to include the boots!
But an eleventh hour reprieve by the The Fourth Battalion, The Queen's Lancashire Regiment saved the day when they came up with six pairs of sturdy black army boots.
Emma, 23, from the University of Central Lancashire, said: "I couldn't believe it. The show was on Friday in London. The University had forked out £4,000 for the models when I realised they had no boots to wear.
"I was walking through Preston when I spotted a team from a TA unit collecting for charity.
"I asked if they could lend me some boots and they came up with goods straight away - they even gave me some of their old ones and let me keep them so I'll be passing them on to desperate students!"
Captain Haworth from the Regiment said: "This request was certainly out of the ordinary, but the Battalion was pleased to help local students."
