CARL FOGARTY looks to stamp his authority on the World Superbikes Championship this weekend as he prepares for round five in Italy.
The double world champion holds a commanding lead at the top of the table after winning at the last two rounds in Hockenheim and Donnington to open up a 24 point gap.
Another super show in Monza by the Ducati demon will surely make it almost impossible for his nearest rival Aaron Slight to dislodge him from pole position.
Fogarty's teammate Neil Hodgson from Burnley will miss the trip after shattering a knee cap in a freak accident last week.
But the 22-year-old has vowed to make a quick comeback as no damage was done to his tendons, ligaments or muscles and he hopes to ride again at Laguna Seca in the USA on July 11-13.
