YOUNGSTERS who went along to Barden High School in Burnley made new friends around the world when they tried their hand at some of the latest electronic technology.
They joined an international bit of fun by taking part in a video link with the Caribbean, Hong Kong and the Sahara through the Internet.
Their expedition along the Tropic of Cancer was organised after BT teamed up with Lancashire County Council to explore ways of using new technology in the classroom.
BT's Andy Stansfield said: "The opportunity to go around the world is still something most children can only dream about. But what we can do with the Internet is the next best thing."
