METROLINK will start its early morning Sunday service this weekend.
The move is in response to customer demand following the recent weekend changes which resulted in Sunday services beginning at 8am. Trams will now start running at 7am.
"The timetables were originally changed to take account of later operations on a Friday and Saturday evening and to allow for maintenance work," explained Barney Thirlwall, managing director of Metrolink. "However, when it became apparent that some customers were being inconvenienced a decision was taken to re-introduce the earlier journeys as quickly as possible."
He added: "We welcome comments from the travelling public to enable us to provide the maximum level of service to meet demand."
