THE students of Stand Centre of Bury College would like to express their feelings about the coverage that our recent "walk out" demonstration received.
Firstly, we would like to thank the Bury Times for the amount of coverage. Every effort was made to ensure that Bury College's good name remained intact throughout the protest.
Some comments were made which we felt did not reflect the views of all students and we stress that our protest was against the Further Education Funding Council and NOT against Bury College.
Student-staff relationships remain productive, and we will continue to exercise our rights to be represented on college councils to make our views heard. Stand Centre is a good, solid institution and it is the pressure put upon the college from the Further Education Funding Council (FEFC) that has angered students.
STUDENTS,
Stand Centre.
