THE International Scottish Rally which finished in Dumfries a couple of weeks ago gave Wayne and Neil Sisson the lead in the Mobil 1 British Junior Championship.

With their class and junior championship rival Stuart and Steve Egglestone out of the event at the end of the first day due to electrical problems, the Arnside motorsport crew only had to finish to lead the group.

On the final stage of the event on the Saturday, the Miller Oils supported Vauxhall Astra GSi had to do 15 miles of the 19 miles stage with no breaks after a rock broke the break pipe.

The next round of the British Championship takes place in Ulster at the beginning of August. With the Manx International to finish the series, the forest rounds have been completed and the Astra will now have the suspension changed to the tarmac specification.

Before Ulster, the brothers have a supporting role to play as father, Clive, and Kevin Savage start their warm up to the RAC on the Jim Clark Memorial Rally.

This is the first closed roads rally to be held on the mainland Britain and comes after many years of hard work on behalf of the organisers to get the Act of Parliament to close the roads.

The event takes place on the 4th - 6th of July and covers 155 stage miles around Berwickshire.
