MORE than 100 volunteers are needed for committees which meet to discuss social services at local level.
County Hall bosses are urging people to sign up for district liaison committees to ensure a local voice is heard when vital decisions are made.
The groups are usually made up of councillors, representatives from voluntary organisation and health and education experts.
Social services chairman Doreen Pollitt said: "The committees can be a local voice about social services. They provide a forum to consider matters affecting the districts.
"There are eight vacancies on each committee and I would urge anyone interested to put forward nominations for membership."
Anyone interested should write to Director of Social Services, PO Box 162, East Cliff County Offices, Lancashire County Council, Preston, PR1 3EA.
