LEIGH Folk Club organiser Theresa Tooley has won the National Singer of the Year Award at the Sutton Bonnington festival.
Back on the home front, the club had a full house last Sunday with each of the following members doing a 'turn':
Shirley Ross, Theresa Tooley, Norman Hadcroft, Joan Szymanowski, Alyn Jones, Brian Heaton and Sam Armstrong.
Non-members are welcome to attend meetings which start at 8.15pm every Sunday in the upstairs room of St Joseph's Sodality Club, opposite Bedford Square.

LOWTON St Luke's school is the venue for a quiz night on Friday, July 4 from 8pm. Teams of 2-6 people can enter at a cost of £2.50 per person, which includes supper. To book ring 601164 or contact the school 201140.
CULCHETH WI had a tea to celebrate 100 years of the WI movement. The tea was enjoyed by 50 members who had a group photo to mark the occasion.
The next meeting on July 1 is an outing with Lancashire Days Out. Bookings are still being taken.
LEIGH Library will be at the centre of an event next month organised for those interested in art.
The finishing touches are being applied to the first Wigan Borough Visual Arts Festival which will take place at a number libraries throughout July.
In Leigh a Mosaic Workshop will be held at the Turnpike Gallery on July 5, 12, 19 and 26 from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
Organiser Jo Gorner, the council's Visual Arts Outreach Officer, said: "It doesn't matter if you're an expert or beginner, there will be lots of things to see and do."
