A TEAM of fantasy business managers from Colne could be off to soccer's World Cup finals in Paris next year.
A group from the Emmott Arms, Laneshaw Bridge, are at the top of their league and heading for the top prize in the National Innkeeping Business Game, a contest in which 200 teams are testing their entrepreneurial skills to the limit.
Run by The British Institute of Innkeeping, the competition gives people a taste of what it's like to run a pub by setting them fictitious tasks on issues such as training, investment, advertising, employment law and customer care.
The Emmott Arms team, captained by the pub's Douglas Allan, a member of the institute, are set to compete against the other regional league leaders at a two-day final to decide who goes to the World Cup.
