A MAN has been arrested for indecent assault after approaching a female passenger aboard a Bury-Manchester Metrolink tram.
A Metrolink staff member on the tram alerted the driver who made radio contact with control to seek police help. The man was arrested when police boarded the vehicle at Metrolink's Queen Road depot.
Sue Long, a receptionist at Metrolink, explained: "I noticed the man put his arm round the lady. After a short while she became distressed and I realised he was making a nuisance of himself.
"So, I decided to tell the driver what was happening and he was then able to obtain assistance," she added.
