A KITTEN had a purr-fect escape after clinging to the bottom of a van for more than 60 miles.
The five-week-old wonder kitten, nicknamed Lucky, hung on for dear life as the truck travelled at 70mph from Tottington to Preston - via Manchester.
The kitten was discovered by furniture fitter Adrian Cudworth of Bury Road, Tottington, following a thorough search of the vehicle, after his colleague, John Nicholson, from Warrington, kept hearing miaowing noises.
She was found clutching to a thin ledge on top of the petrol tank.
Adrian said: "I don't how she got there. I think she took shelter from the rain the night before and somehow managed to climb up!
"But she seemed alright, dirty and a little worse for wear, but other than that unharmed.
"How she survived I'll never know but I think she was grateful to be rescued."
The kitten has been taken in by the woman whose house Adrian went to fit, in Preston.
Adrian joked: "You don't get this every day. I've done deliveries before but never like this. I can't believe she called her Lucky, I wanted to call her Speedy!"
