PEOPLE living in two residential areas of Newton-le-Willows are to be consulted about traffic calming measures proposed by St Helens Council.
Over the next two years, the council plans to build speed reduction features in an area on either side of Wargrave Road and in the area north of Crow Lane East.
Proposed vehicle restraint measures include road humps and build-out features to reduce the risk and severity of traffic accidents while improving the environment for residents, pedestrians and cyclists.
Together with upgraded road surfaces, street lighting and signage, the measures will cost £300,000. Bus companies and the emergency services will be asked about the consequences for their operations.
