FOUR Burnley and Pendle aerospace companies are hoping to see a big boost in orders after successful appearances at Paris International Air Show.

International Research and Development, Foulridge, AIT, Burnley, Cleveland Guest, Colne, and Kelbrook's Euravia travelled to the French capital as part of the Consortium of Lancashire Aerospace (CLA).

CLA chairman Dennis Mendoros, boss of Euravia, said: "We had a fantastic show and we were able to make an agreement with an important player in the industry, meaning a significant amount of business will be done over the next five years."

AIT marketing manager Dave Pickup said: "We have received a large number of enquiries by participating at the Paris Air Show. The quality of trade visitors to our stand has been very good, with a number of orders under discussion. We are delighted."

And Cleveland Guest's boss, Steve Hollis, said: "We were able to make some worthwhile new contacts as well as seeing many of our current customers. It can only help to further strengthen our forward order book, which is looking very good at present."
