JUBILANT staff at a Blackburn firm were today celebrating a £50,000 win on the National Lottery. The 20-strong syndicate at Rectella, Roman Road, scooped £49,717 on the midweek lottery.
They were travelling to Batley in West Yorkshire today to receive the cheque from Camelot officials. Their lucky numbers were 17, 27, 28, 38, 40 and the bonus ball number six. They will each receive £2,485.85p.
If their other number had come up they would have won more than £1 million.The syndicate, which includes 18 women and two men, has been organised since September by staff Catrina Beattie and Susan Coates.
Margaret Coghlan, 39, superviser at the firm which manufactures household textiles, said: "We are all absolutely elated. We were on pins during the morning before we actually received official confirmation that we had won."
