SO, bikers with defective machines are 'outlaws.' We can assume that to catch 50 'outlaws' the police must have been very vigilant, so why did they not pull in the 'Bonnie and Clyde' car drivers - those with blatantly illegal number plates, dangling trinkets from rear view mirrors, bald tyres, no tax, children not strapped in, but worst of all, defective eyesight.
Some car drivers seem to need to hear a noisy exhaust so they know what's coming. Others just pull out, as several of my friends have found to their cost, even when riding in daylight with lights on.
Motor cycling is booming again. It is a major factor in reducing road congestion as well as fun.
On an historical note, back in the last boom of 1980, motorcyclists went through the same rigours with the police, but now they are better trained and have a better accident record than car drivers.
Let's hope Lancashire Police target 'Bonnie and Clyde' next weekend.
Remember car drivers: Think Bike.
