WHEN I read your front-page headline "Couple who killed their baby" (LET, June 24) I'm sure that, like me, dozens of other readers thought: "Oh, no, not again."
Yet another baby has died at the hands of adults who are old enough to know better, but who were too selfish to care.
I wept thinking of that poor baby who was born suffering from drug withdrawal symptoms and probably never knew a moment of love, comfort, warmth or kindness.
What a sad, short life. What a waste.
I'm sure other readers, like me, thought that we must never let this happen again.
But this should never have happened. Where were the professionals; the extended family?
Soon, we will all have forgotten Tara. But let her rest in peace - and this will happen again.
