A TEAM of hospital cleaners who had battled for months to keep their jobs in the face of privatisation lost their fight.
The contract for cleaning Queens Park Hospital, Bull Hill Maternity Home and various health centres in Blackburn district was to go to a private firm. About 100 cleaners who lobbied health authority meetings were to be issued with 90-day notices.
