JOB shop boss Neville Gee is taking another jibe at local football - and this time his humour is an own goal.
Naughty Neville, who placed a spoof job ad for a replacement for Alan Shearer after the Blackburn Rovers star deserted Ewood Park, is now jokingly trying to recruit a new manager for Burnley FC.
Clarets fan Neville, a season ticket holder and supporter "man and boy," has placed an ad in his employment consultancy on Hargreaves Street, Burnley, for "manager for local football club - ambition and experience not required!"
Neville quipped: "We have had quite a few applicants but they have all been too good - they knew too much about football. We don't expect to fill the position"
Neville is just having a bit of fun at the expense of the club to which he is devoted - but in which he is disappointed since the departure of Adrian Heath.
Neville said he was a loyal supporter, but was a "little bit miffed," at what's going on. He said: "Heath looked as if he was trying to get new blood into the Clarets, but now that is all in abeyance and we are managerless a month before the start of the season."
He added: "I am disappointed he's gone. I think we could do with a good player manager or somebody like Trevor Steven, who used to play for Burnley and married a girl from Padiham.
"We need a decent player manager, probably somebody getting to the end of their playing career."
