A CONTROVERSIAL plan to build houses in Fulwood, Preston was unanimously turned down by councillors.
As part of a detailed plan Allen Homes hoped to improve traffic calming measures as well as put up the homes on land near to Boys Lane, Fulwood.
But members of Preston council's Planning Committee decided the site was not suitable for residential use at a meeting on Friday (June 20).
Councillor Alan Hackett said: "It is a small and crammed site. It could improve the traffic but you are creating a hazard in order to solve a hazard."
Allen Homes were unavailable for comment.
