HOSPITAL life may be pretty hair-raising, but it's nothing compared to letting your sister cut your hair!
Paediatric nurse Peter Doyle, his brother Andrew and pals Jamie Garvey and Frank Laytham, all from Great Harwood, raised over £700 by having their heads shaved for the children's ward at Burnley General hospital.
The close cuts, carried out by Peter's sister Janet from local salon Overheads and Co, were the highlight of a day of fundraising at the Plough pub in Great Harwood in aid of the ward, where he works.
Peter's other sister Deborah was on hand with face painting to keep the children amused and a raffle was also held.
Peter said: "Everyone enjoyed themselves, and we raised a lot of money. We won't be able to do it again for a while though!"
