LOTTERY funded refurbishment at Darwen Library Theatre has been postponed until November as the renovation plans undergo a revamp.
The delay in the half-million pound project has enabled the theatre to put on a programme of events, many of them suitable for schoolchildren, over the summer.
Darwen Youth Players spokeswoman Stella Barclay said: "We now have the opportunity to bring in a summer programme, which we are currently organising.
"We hope to have the Owl and the Pussycat for young children, and hopefully something a bit scary for the older ones!"
A new opening date for the theatre - which will have seating for 250, better disabled access, and a cafe bar in the foyer - has yet to be set.
