WE agree with everything that Mr H Slater said about the lip-reading classes at Blackburn College (Letters, June 23). They really are a godsend to people suffering from hearing loss.
Another good venue for the hearing impaired is the Blackburn Fellowship for the Hard of Hearing, which meets at 7.30pm on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Ardley Centre, Bent Street, Blackburn. The members are all friendly and the programme has something for everyone.
So, all you hard-of-hearing people, come along with a relative or a friend and meet people who know all the difficulties that you endure. You will be sure of a warm, welcome.
JOHN and EILEEN SPEAKMAN (Welfare visitors for the Blackburn Fellowship for the Hard of Hearing), Northfield Road, Blackburn.
