ST HELENS Recs moved into the last eight of the Liverpool Echo KO with victory over Prescot.
On a damp slow low wicket Vince Wood with 18, Ian Huyton with 17 and Stu Lyon 16 allowed Recs to reach 94-7 after their 20 overs.
The total proved too much for the home side as Scott Williams and Gary Freeman restricted them to 28 from their first 10 overs.
Steve Martindale bowled well and made three chances in as many balls, although only one was taken before Phil Baines took three wickets to set Prescot back even further.
Stephen Garvey, bowling at the later order batsmen, then managed to take three wickets for only five runs as Prescot were bowled out for 74 and Recs now await the draw to see who they play in the quarter finals.
Although the seconds could manage no play due to the rain both sides hope to be in action again this weekend as the first eleven travel to Newton with the match ball being sponsored by Derek Critchley.
