A LANDLORD and his wife were bowled over at the prospect of serving lunch to the Australian Cricket team.
But when a lesser known club from Maroochydore, in Queensland, turned up to dine, their hopes were not knocked for six.
The team is touring Britain and after chatting to players, Lol Sullivan, landlord of the Bay Horse Hotel, Baxenden, mentioned to them he had a brother in Australia with whom he had lost touch.
Cricketer Ashley Harper took family details and promised on his return he would make inquiries and do his best to reunite the family.
Lol's brother Richard moved to Australia when he was 17 - 33 years ago. He went with the Big Brother movement, which offered emigration for £10.
The family were in contact with each other until about seven years ago, when several members moved house and lost touch.
Lol, who became landlord of the Bay Horse two weeks ago with wife, Norma, has tried many channels to contact his brother with no success.
He said: "When my wife took the call, she said someone had phoned from the Australian cricket team and booked for lunch.
"When they team turned up we weren't disappointed they weren't the Australian team as they were all really friendly people.
"I was really pleased when Ashley took down the details about my brother and said he would help to find him when they returned."
