GOLF'S boy wonder has revealed the secret of his hole-in-one success - his lucky Clarets cap!

Five-year-old Matthew Draper became the envy of millions of golfers when he struck his record-breaking shot.

He was wearing the Burnley FC hat when he aced the 120-yard fourth hole at a golf course near his home town, Banbury.

His dad Philip was born in Burnley and both he and Matthew are loyal Clarets fans. Whenever they're in town visiting relatives they always make the pilgrimage to Turf Moor to see their favourite team play.

There's a good chance that Matthew could be the youngest player ever to score a hole in one. The current record holder, a man from Colorado, was also five when he achieved the feat, so researchers for the Guinness Book of Records are gathering details on both players to find out who is the youngest.

Philip admitted he was jealous of his son's ace. "I've never had a hole-in-one," he said. "It happened on a par-three hole, so it was an eagle - and I've never had an eagle either. I've not even had all that many birdies.

"We play every week, and Matthew has been playing seriously for about two years. He has a set of special clubs and he has a naturally good swing - when he connects properly with the ball it goes a long way."

Matthew's idol is Nick Faldo, but if he keeps playing so well he's sure to be dubbed The Next Tiger Woods

Philip said: "If it's what he wants to do, that's fine. We'll support him in whatever he wants to do."
