TWO East Lancashire firms are celebrating five-star awards presented by the British Safety Council in London.
Peter Stuart and Keith Edmondson, of Schlumberger Gas-Metflex, Great Harwood, together with Graeme Parkinson and Kathy Colclough, of Avesta Sheffield Distribution, Guide, received awards from Sir Neville Purvis, director general of the British Safety Council.
The awards highlight companies' achievements in improving safety records.
"Good safety is good business and can save firms hundreds of thousands of pounds," Sir Neville said.
"Avesta and Schlumberger have both shown real commitment to improving health and safety in the workplace."
